But what if we shake up the norm a bit and make the sidekick the star of wedding day decor? Enter a trend that we can wholeheartedly stand behind… Candle only wedding affairs!

We want to introduce you to Glimmer ‘n Glow Candles, a wedding industry “bright light” that is shining its way in the DC and Charlottesville area.  When Brianna and her better half, Nathan were planning their wedding, she envisioned a moment draped in romantic and elegant simplicity. A room overflowing with candlelight, a breathtaking and awe inspiring scene. A celebration illuminated not only by their love but by the beauty of natural glowing light.  This vision is what sparked the idea for Glimmer ‘n Glow Candles.   Read on to find out all about this hot new company blazing its way into the industry.

Who is the woman behind Glimmer ‘n Glow? Tell us a little bit about yourself…

“My name is Brianna and I am the co-founder of Glimmer ‘n Glow Candle Co.  I am currently living in Charlottesville, VA., however, I am originally from sunny South Florida!  Nathan is my better half and the muscle behind the company.  He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and his new career is what brought us here.  He likes to say we are the perfect combination of brains and braun that come together to deliver the ultimate package!”

How did you come up with the concept behind Glimmer ‘n Glow Candle Co.?

Glimmer ‘n Glow Candle Co. started with a girl who had a dream.  I am a huge fan of the show Friends. One of my favorite scenes in the series is the episode where Monica and Chandler get engaged. What I loved most about the scene was how simple and elegant it all was, while simultaneously stunning and jaw-dropping. It was one concept: candles, and candles everywhere! I always knew that at my wedding someday, I wanted candles to be the focal point of the design. I embarked on a journey to have the dreamy and romantic candle lit wedding that I had always imagined. During the process of planning, gathering inventory, and designing each aspect, I realized that I would love to do this for others who want candles to be as much a part of their special day as I did.”

What makes Glimmer ‘n Glow candles different from the candles that florists offer?

“Our candles are made of pearled wax. This means that our candles can take the shape of any fire safe container! That’s right, it means our candles come in all shapes and sizes and we can fully customize your event to your taste!  Our candles can be as small at 4” tall and as jaw-dropping as 40” tall if you really wanted to make a statement. We do events of all sizes and we truly have no limit on the number of candles we can stage for your event. The best part, (as if that wasn’t), is that our candles are vegan, smokeless, eco-friendly, and self-extinguishable!  Just because we are in the candle business, doesn’t mean we think that you shouldn’t have flowers at your wedding! We love working with florists and we agree that florals are the perfect compliment to our candles.” 

Can you tell our clients what “luxury candle staging” means?

“Luxury means experience in our books. When you book with Glimmer ‘n Glow Candle Co., you will be booking an experience. We offer a full service candle rental and staging service.  From initial contact until the big day, we are involved in designing, conceptualizing, and drafting up a candle design to check all of your boxes.  Our services include: initial consultation, design, setup, breakdown, and cleanup.  We want to ensure that every event goes off without a hitch.  Our favorite part will always be seeing your reaction to everything that has come together and knowing that we made dreams come true!”

Walk us through a wedding designed by Glimmer ‘n Glow.

“Let’s start with the entrance to the venue.  Guests are greeted at the entryway with an assortment of our 18”-40” vases grounded on the floor.  As the guests move from the entrance of the venue towards the ceremony, they are met with a backdrop of candles on pedestals that line the ceremony site.  The candles and pedestals are complemented by floral arrangements and the Virginia backdrop sits beautifully in the background.  Once the ceremony is over, the guests will move to cocktail hour.  Our candles will light up each cocktail table and corners of the bar to provide ambiance while guests anticipate the reception.  In the reception hall, the long farm tables have a runner of tabletop candles to light up the room and the round tables have elevated centerpieces and candles to ground them on the table. The sweetheart table has an assortment of the taller statement candles at each end and they also decorate and illuminate shelves behind the bride and groom. The entire reception area is glimmering and glowing in candlelight.”
