THE GRAND FINALE

Another summer has come and gone, and that means a return to crisp days and cool nights. Lush green trees begin to transform and cloak the countryside with vibrant reds, oranges and yellows.  While you may feel somewhat somber at the passing of yet another summer season, rest assured the dazzling fall foliage that colors the sky is sure to lift your spirits…and take your breath away.

Fall is a lovely time to get married, the weather is just right, the sun sets a bit earlier making way for some gorgeous golden hour photos and the Virginian landscape is beginning to make its colorful debut.  If you are considering a fall wedding, you may be thinking about the scenic views that will lend the backdrop to so many of your outdoor photos. Lucky for you we love a venue with a view…especially during the fall season.  Read on for some of our favorite locations to soak up the scenery.

Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyard

Pippin Hill truly understands the importance of natural beauty. The perfectly polished landscape and the jaw dropping mountain views make Pippin Hill a photographer’s paradise. Every turn, more breathtaking than the last.  With close proximity to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you will have perfect, panoramic mountain views throughout your ceremony. Whether on the open-air stone veranda or the Vineyard Lawn, Pippin Hill offers picturesque views, and is, in fact, known for its stunning and unforgettable backdrops.  Throw in some fall foliage and the devastatingly gorgeous views become even more remarkable.  Pippin Hill has so much to offer; a delicious farm to table menu, award winning wines, and an ultra-luxurious former wedding planner turned owner…but the mountain views alone are enough to coax you to make a decision right on the spot.

Early Mountain Vineyard

There are many reasons to fall in love with Early Mountain, but the way the gardens and the mountains harmonize to create an impeccable backdrop is second to none.  If it is views that you want, Early Mountain offers a panoramic perspective of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Offering 300+ acres of awe-inspiring scenery, Early Mountain is as magnificent outside as it is inside. Once the fall creeps upon the grounds of Early Mountain, the lush green trees quickly begin to transform the landscape into an explosion of color.  This award winning farm-to-table venue offers high vaulted ceilings, exposed brick, rustic chandeliers and beautiful fireplaces, they have covered every detail in order to give their clients a high end experience…and that is just indoors.  Once Mother Nature casts her spell in mid-October, magic happens.

King Family Vineyard

King Family is a venue with a wealth of history and an exquisite backdrop to match.  Everywhere you turn, the stunning mountains will  take your breath away.  In fact the 360 degree mountain view is one of our favorite features of this exceptional venue. King Family hosts more than one hundred weddings per year, all year long.  Believe us when we say the fall foliage is only enhanced by the expansive views and the ample space of the venue’s grounds. King Family has a heartwarming history and is a family owned business steeped in tradition and a beautiful legacy.  The winery (which started with some notes on a napkin) was built from a family’s heartfelt passion while the venue has been the site of so much wedded bliss…a true love story on so many levels.

Castle Hill Cider

Rolling hills, centuries old trees and orchards create a perfectly romantic setting for a wedding…throw in the changing leaves and you have the quintessential backdrop for your fall nuptials.  Castle Hill is made up of 600 acres of lavish and lush natural beauty.  The linden trees, apple orchards, cherry trees and wisteria arbors make it easy to see why this place is a showstopper.  During the fall season, you may even be lucky enough to get a photo of you and your beloved in a shower of falling leaves. The vast landscape of Castle Hill Cider offers so many different outdoor locations to host the many aspects of your wedding day.  One thing that sets Castle Hill apart from other Charlottesville venues is that there are options when it comes to planning your ceremony; the Linden trees for some natural shade, the Lawns overlooking the lake as you say I do or perhaps the apple orchards for the cider lovers.  Each more dreamy than the next…your photographer will thank you for choosing Castle Hill

In Charlottesville, autumn is not just a season…it is an experience. Every leaf in the city becomes a flower and the landscape becomes a garden adorned in red, gold and bronze.  As our beloved city turns into a vivid tapestry of color, we can’t help but imagine there is nothing more lovely than a Charolettesville wedding in the fall.  When every turn is awe-inspiring you know you hit the jackpot!
