THE GRAND FINALE

Fathers are a significant part of the wedding day, in fact, they are just as important as mom.  While dads sometimes get a little more love and recognition, having the honor of walking the bride down the aisle, we think it is always special to honor both parents in any way that feels appropriate at any stage of your journey.  Since we already covered how to make mom feel special, we will focus on the big (and small) things you can do to honor dad.

The Best Man to Raise You…The Best Man at Your Wedding

Your best man…the person who knows you best (other than your partner, of course) and has always been there for you.  Oftentimes, you will choose your best friend or brother, but have you ever thought about choosing your dad?  In a world where wedding traditions are constantly evolving, breaking custom and inviting your dad to stand by you as your best man is truly an honor for the man who quite honestly knows you better than most. A built in ring leader with your best interests at heart…your dad with his “father knows best” wisdom sprinkled in with some dad jokes is a perfect candidate for this honorable role.  If you are looking for “the best” way to honor your dad…this is it.

A First Look…With Dad

A first look is the eternally intimate moment when the couple finally gets to see each other on their wedding day…in their wedding attire, with only a few very important people standing by to witness this moment.  A sentimental moment that can be shared by the couple for years to come.  But just as the couple is excited to see one another, the man that raised and cared for you may love this profound moment for himself as well.   A bride or groom can have a first look with their father in the same way they share one with their beloved.  A moment of solitude before the day unfolds, when one type of love opens the door for the next.

Running Things…As a Dad Should

Just as dad can be a best man, dad can also officiate your wedding for a super sweet and intimate family moment during the ceremony. It is fairly easy and often free to become ordained. Giving your dad the honor of overseeing your wedding is a monumental memory and tender moment for your family.

Waltzing Down the Aisle Together

The customary tradition of the father walking his son or daughter down the aisle to their forever has held true for many years and most guests can’t help but tear up when they witness this loving moment.  Although this is the most common way to honor your father on your wedding day, it still stands as one of the most sentimental moments. And who doesn’t want to begin a wedding ceremony with all the feels?

Small Things for Dad

If you are not looking for grandeur when it comes to honoring dad or you are looking to go beyond tradition, there are a few small things you can incorporate on your wedding day to honor this truly special man.  Ask your dad to give the welcome speech at the reception, wear an emblem of love to pay tribute to him or give a toast to the fathers.  You can offer his favorite dish or design a signature cocktail after him or even go as far as choreographing a fun dance together that will surely get the crowd excited.  Consider your dad, his comfort level and the things he loves when honoring him on your special day and we are certain that he will feel like a truly significant part of your wedding.
